Call Conference Facility on a Panasonic KXT-DA Phone System
The first thing to keep in mind is that the Conf facility (button) is the same as pressing transfer or hold so if you intend to conference a call you at no point use hold or transfer as part of the operation. In some cases the person wanting to conference a call may not have a Conf button. In these cases the operator must setup the call for them.Scenario 1
the user has a call Conf Button.
1. A caller rings you (or you ring them) (While Speaking to them
2. Press CONF button. (This places the person you were talking to on hold.)
3. Ring another person as you normally would (this can be an internal extension or an external Party.)
4. While speaking to the new person Press CONF button. (This now brings back the first person into your Call.)
5. If you want more people in the call (Press CONF button again) at this point you leave the Conf call however the other 2 person can continue their conversation.
6. Ring another Person (while speaking to them press Conf button) this brings person 1 & 2 back into your Conf Call. You can have up-to 5 persons on 1 Conf call.
Call. Scenario 2
The user does-Not have a Conf button and needs the operator to setup the CONF Call for them.
This is similar to scenario 1 however 1st the operator will have to ring all the persons taking part in the call.
1. (Operator Instruction) ring all parties in the call and place them on hold (let’s say 3 persons) are now on hold on lines 1, 2, & 3.
2. Now ring the user who asked for the CONF call.
3. While speaking to the user press CONF button.
4. Take the call held on line 1 back and then press Conf button.
5. Press Conf button again
6. Take the call held on line 2 back and then press Conf button
7. Press Conf button again.
8. Take the call held on line 3 back and then press Conf button. All 3 calls the user and including the operator should be in the conference call once this is confirmed the operator can hang-up thus only leaving the 3 calls and user in conference.(note the operator will receive a tone every 6 minutes to alert her she started a conf call.
